I am an enthusiastic lover of music, driven by a desire to engage others in musical wonder. While we live in an era with more amazing music available to us than ever before in history, it exists in a vacuum of thoughtful, intentional music curation and education to help folks discover what they enjoy.

Many people today feel stuck listening to the same forty “popular” songs on the radio (if they even listen to the radio anymore) or continuing to listen to the same songs they discovered in high school, unsure of how to discover new music they love. Even worse, many of these people incorrectly believe “there is no good new music anymore”. 😢😭

In the 1970’s and even into the 1980’s, broadcast radio DJ’s actively curated music for their audiences, not based on machine learning, but their intimate knowledge of music and their audience. They cultivated communities where like-minded individuals could discover music together, guided by respected curators who always had a reason for sharing a new tune with the listener.

Inspired by these DJ personalities, I created Mix Tape Journey to provide a connection point for those who enjoy great music, but who would appreciate assistance in navigating the massive amount of musical content available today.

I pledge to provide thoughtful, intentional music curation to share the excitement of discovery and warmth of connection along the road to helping you make your own musical discoveries.
