Good day! I’m DJ Ponyboy. Welcome to Freaky Kiki, my Halloween 2024 Theme Mix Tape (Side B) on KMTJ-DB – Your Mix Tape Journey – Denver, Colorado. If you missed Side A (Happy Spoopy Season), check it out next!
I set out with today’s mix tape to create the perfect adult Halloween party soundtrack, featuring the best spooky tunes for your haunted pleasure.
Kicking us off is Outkast and Kelis, reminding us that even vampires get cold feet with “Dracula’s Wedding”.
My best friend has a lot to say ‘bout you. Alfie Templeman and Coach Party with “My Best Friend”. Before that, Outkast and Kelis with “Dracula’s Wedding”.
One of my favourite psychedelic artists is Wax Tailor. Marrying music, beats, old movie quotes, disturbing themes, and a spooky ambiance, this artist manages to craft entire worlds in each of their albums.
Here is Wax Tailor and “Ungodly Fruit” on KMTJ-DB, Denver.
One of the very first Alice Cooper songs I ever encountered was from the music video for our next song that I downloaded using Limewire in my college computer lab.
From his 1986 album Constrictor, and featured in the horror film, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, released the same year, enjoy Alice Cooper and “He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask)”.
Alice Cooper, everybody! Up next, Warren Zevon with “Excitable Boy” on KMTJ-DB – Your Mix Tape Journey – Denver, Colorado.
One of my very favourite bands of all-time is the Ramones, and boy do they have some fun spooky songs! One of the best in my opinion is our next tune; originally written for the 1986 film adaptation of the 1983 Stephen King horror book by the same name, off their 1989 album Brain Drain, here is the Ramones and “Pet Sematary”.
That was the Ramones! I’m DJ Ponyboy. Thank you for joining me today for the Freaky Kiki: Halloween 2024 Theme Mix Tape (Side B). I hope you’re enjoying all the great music! Make sure to join me next week – same place, same time, for my monthly New Music Mix Tape, featuring the very best new music from the month of October.

While the lyrics of our next song relate more to troubling economic conditions than pesky apparitions, the absolutely ghostly vibe of this tune earns it a place in today’s mix tape. Here are the Specials with their 1981 number one hit, “Ghost Town”.

Up next a song about evil that should be sung directly to Evangelical Christians. And I quote, “Why do you believe in monsters? Why do you believe in hell? Why do you believe in love divine in your dark and twisted mind?”
Here is Gothminister and “Monsters”.
Nekromantix with “Trick or Treat”. Gothminister before that with “Monsters”.
Thank you so much for joining me today to celebrate the spooky season like adults. I hope you had a great time vibing to the music and hopefully I was able to introduce you to a new favourite song.
Make sure to join me every Sunday for brand new mix tapes celebrating new music, musical themes, and musical connections.
Born in 1875, Aleister Crowley was a British occultist, magician, poet, philosopher, political theorist, novelist, and more who may be best known for founding the religion of Thelema, posturing himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus, deceiving thousands of people in his quest for power and fortune.
Closing out today’s mix tape is Ozzy Osbourne with one of my favourite songs of his, featuring one of the most unique and moving synth intros of all time, setting a grand stage to tell an occultist tale.
Without further ado, here is Ozzy Osbourne and his track, 1980’s “Mr. Crowley” on KMTJ-DB, Denver.
Awesome Ozzy and “Mr. Crowley”! Thank you so much for joining me today for Freaky Kiki, Side B of my Halloween 2024 Theme Mix Tape. Make sure to join me next week and every week for more music and fun!
